Thank you Scott for your comment, but they did purchase this portrait and it is more memorable than the rest of the shots. I don't think in any session, I would only sale a photo like this, but as an extra image to a set, that makes the session more memorable, it is a great addition. :)

Thanks for this post! I haven't actually started doing photography professionally yet, but I've done some shoots for friends/family and always thought it would be awkward dealing with people I don't know. It makes total sense (but I never thought of it) to just engage them in conversation....and let the natural poses shine!

Um... is it a great photo when the woman is looking down and away from the camera, emphasizing her multiple chins? And every subject's eyes are closed? It's an OK candid, but I always thought the best photos were when the subjects' eyes were open. Boy, portrait photography sure has changed.

Ditto all of the above !I have taken the liberty of printing some of the blog as i'd enjoyed reading them so much in the first place.I find them very pertinent and exactly answering questions that have been milling about in my mind for some time now...

Having bought endless magazines i can honestly say that your blog addresses the practical(actual) side of things very well and seem not to take yourself too seriously whilst at the same time, being very serious about what you do.

Enjoy photography !Enjoy being able to put a smile on someone's face and to be able to make a difference to someone's memories in years to come - is that not one of the main motivations ?

I loved learning more about Sara. I visit her blog often, and I'm amazed at her many business ventures. Her budding photography business is an inspiration to me. Thanks for the wonderful profile!
